What is Ketamine Therapy?
Ketamine therapy offers a unique approach to treating a variety of conditions by targeting glutamate, a key neurotransmitter involved in synaptic growth and pain signaling. Unlike traditional antidepressants, Ketamine acts on the NMDA receptor to enhance neuroplasticity, potentially reversing damage caused by chronic stress. This fosters emotional openness and profound internal shifts, facilitating new ways of thinking and being.
Our Approach
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the pharmacological effects of ketamine with psychotherapy. This approach aims to enhance the therapeutic impact of ketamine by incorporating guided therapy sessions that help patients navigate and process their experiences during and after their ketamine treatment. Our integrative approach, led by Cody Sims PA-C, and Barbara Chandler MA LMFT, can lead to deeper insights, emotional processing, and personal growth, which can contribute to longer-lasting improvements in mental health.

Barbara is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and certified Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapist. She has also completed MDMA training through MAPS. She takes an integrative approach by combining psychological and transpersonal experiences with spiritual growth and self-discovery. Her methods are grounded in mindfulness and focused on supporting inner healing and balance.
Barbara mentors other practitioners in the psychedelic field and she hosts several support circles to assist people with prep and integration. She has been a key speaker several times with Sierra Psychedelic Society, and she has done multiple interviews, speaking about the healing potential of psychedelic medicines. When she is not working with clients, she can be found at home, in Reno, with her family and pets. She enjoys reading, meditation, and Earthing, and she is a big Grateful Dead fan.
